TSS On Wheels

The Sound Space brings to Mumbai The Sound Space on Wheels - a one-of-a-kind music class on wheels, that will open a musical world weekly for children from our community residing all over Mumbai. In this fully-equipped music classroom on wheels, the children will be led by professionally trained music educators and will follow a customised curriculum.

This bus will move around Mumbai to different locations where children can get in for 40 minutes and explore the world of music with us. A well-trained music teacher and volunteer will be present to conduct these music classes, along with about 20 children. We will supply this bus with various musical instruments, and any other props that will help us during the classes. Once the 40 minutes is up, the bus will move on to a different location and halt there for the next class. Through these sessions, the children will strengthen their language skills, creativity, social emotional skills, communication skills along with their musical skills.

These music classes are also aimed at:

One bus will impact the lives of 250 children and will operate approximately 12 classes a week.

Children from an Akanksha Foundation school joined students from the Jai Vakeel Foundation for a musical art workshop hosted by our Co-Founder, Kamakshi Khurana.

The session, led by Ruchika Gupta and Sana Ansari from @theakankshafoundation, urged students to feel the rhythm of music and let it guide them as they painted a canvas together. While each child painted on different sections of the paper, it came together to form a beautiful amalgamation of vibrancy and colour, encapsulating our belief - that no matter our differences, intrinsically, we are all the same.

Through this project, we hope to expand our reach and interact and expose as many children as possible to the world of beauty of music.

We hope to provide them with a sort of safe haven that simultaneously helps to expand their world.

We aim to extend our reach to more schools across the nation and create vibrant music programs that nurture creativity and holistic development.

Our goal is to expand our fleet, allowing us to visit more locations to touch the lives of children in remote areas.

We will forge strong partnerships with like-minded organisations, NGOs, and corporates to amplify our impact and reach more underserved communities.
